Yeah, I'm terrible at updating this. Quick summary of Vermont: delicious food, bowling, hiking, Ben & Jerrys, mini golf and driving range, going walking vs going for a walk (oh yes, there's a difference), King Arthur Flour bakery, and a lot of Food Network and Travel Channel. It was wonderful. Took some fun pictures, made some great memories, and it was the best 10 days I've had...possibly ever.
Now I'm back on St Croix and already I have a sunburn. I spent today (from 5am to 2pm) volunteering at the St Croix Triathlon (Half Ironman and Sprint races) in Christiansted. My youngest sister, Lillian, ran the Sprint race which was 750 m swim, 8 mile bike and 4 mile run. She finished like a rock star and wants to run the Half (by that I mean Half Ironman, it threw me off all day with people calling what I consider the "full" race the "half") next time. Crazy kid. But I was out in the sun all day and only put sunscreen on once (yes, I'm dumb) so my arms and face are red red red. Owie.
Bought my ticket to Chicago for the summer, but still looking for a place. I got accepted to Columbia, but decided not to take a class there after all. I have to be at MIT in the Spring term anyway because one of the required classes is only offered in the Spring (;kjsdpgslkhdvp) so taking a class just to help with units doesn't make sense. I might try to find an ASL class offered somewhere else (the one at Columbia is at 3pm which would require me to be at work at 6 and thaaaaat's not gonna happen), but for now I'll stick with my 40 hr/wk job and all the people-visiting I'm planning and maybe find a gym to join short term!
